Alumni Tracking System Essay Example for Free (#2)

Alumni Tracking System Essay An issue tracking system (also ITS, trouble ticket system, support ticket or incident ticket system) is a computer software package that manages and maintains lists of issues, as needed by an organization. Issue tracking systems are commonly used in an organization’s customer support call center to create, update, and resolve reported customer issues, or even issues reported by that organization’s other employees. An issue tracking system often also contains a knowledge base containing information on each customer, resolutions to common problems, and other such data. An issue tracking system is similar to a â€Å"bugtracker†, and often, a software company will sell both, and some bugtrackers are capable of being used as an issue tracking system, and vice versa. Consistent use of an issue or bug tracking system is considered one of the â€Å"hallmarks of a good software team†.[1] A ticket is an element contained within an issue tracking system which contains information about support interventions made by technical support staff or third parties on behalf of an end-user who has reported an incident that is preventing them from working with their computer as they would expect to be able to. Tickets are commonly created in a help desk or call center environment. Typically the ticket will have a unique reference number, also known as a case, issue or call log number which is used to allow the user or support staff to quickly locate, add to or communicate the status of the user’s issue or request. These tickets are so called because of their origin as small cards within a typical wall mounted work planning system when this kind of support started. Operators or staff receiving a call or query from a user would fill out a small card with the user’s details and a brief summary of the request and place it into a position (usually the last) in a column of pending slots for an appropriate engineer, so determining the staff member who would deal with the query and the priority of the request. Bad Habits of Good Employees Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

Bad Habits of Good Employees - Essay Example The essay "Bad Habits of Good Employees" talks about the dealing with bad habits of efficient employees which is one of the toughest tasks managers have to undertake. On one hand, they need to be told when they are in the wrong because other employees might pick up their habits as legitimate because of their status as efficient employees. And on the other hand directly confronting them may alienate them and affect their performance in the office.Edna Norton is not only a senior member of my team but one of the most valued employees I have. Direct confrontation or strict action is not suitable in this regard because of the quality of her work. What I would do is call a general meeting in the office and outline the progress of different cases that are underway. I will highlight all the people who are doing exceptional work which would include Edna. I will then move to ‘Office policy issues’ and remind all the employees of the rules and procedures of the office. Specificall y on the matter of eating in one’s workspace, instead of singling Edna out I will address the issue in a way that it seems as though many individuals are involved in it. I will simply mention that eating in one’s workspace is not going to be condoned under any circumstance because I am addressing the entire team and not just Edna I will neither alienate her or embarrass her. Consequent actions of failure to follow office policy will also be outlined in the same meeting. In this manner, I can make sure that Edna gets my message.

Planning strategy analysis with case study Essay

Planning strategy analysis with case study - Essay Example Brief Summary of Housing in London City London city area is the largest metropolitan city in the United Kingdom as well as the largest all over Europe. London city has also a diverse range of people, religions and culture. Currently, there are plans underway to improve the housing system in London. One such idea is the London plan (Books, 2010). The draft of the London plan was written by the Mayor of London and published by the Greater London Authority on February 2008. The plan identifies areas of opportunity with an aim of reducing social deprivation a well as creating sustainable development. Such areas will be able to accommodate 2,500 homes. They will also be popular town centers. The objective of the London plan is be able to accommodate London’s growth for the years to come. Every occupant in London city will be able to afford a home as well as gaining accessibility to housing policies for example house insurance. This is meant to improve quality of life as well as cre ation of jobs. Another policy used in London to plan and build homes is the Council house which is popularly known as local authority house. The council houses were built and operated locally in areas surrounding London city. There were also houses newly built and spacious to attract interested persons. However, they mainly targeted the working class persons as they could rent the houses at reasonable prices while some were able to purchase houses. Over the years, many people have migrated to London city which has led to population increase. This is viewed as a negative aspect because houses have become less than the people leading to a vice called urban blight. The council responsible for providing houses is now faced with a challenge to relocate the excess people or build more homes. Optioning to build more homes has not primarily solved the issue as there is now reduced space for expansion in London city. Subsequently, this has led to the leaders of London city to consider buildi ng homes in the less developed areas of United Kingdom. Statistical analysis have shown 15% of the population in London having migrated decongesting the city. Nonetheless, a substantial 40% of London city still live in the council housing (Thorpe, 2010). They claim that the new housing schemes built in the less developed areas are not up to standard with the council houses. In light of this, the council has had to hire top architectures that drew new designs of houses that are at per with the tenants standards. The houses to be built were primarily rental homes. Since there were new designs of houses drew by the architectures, they required new building materials as well as new technology in order to achieve their goal. Technology and Building Materials Strategizing and making a low energy building needs planning and design. A lot depends on the type of weather. In a hot climate, the design needs to mainly focus on keeping the building cool meaning small windows and thick insulating walls on the side that receives the most sun. It has also must a good circulation system to draw out hot air while drawing in cooler air. In a cold climate, the main focus is keeping the building warm. The side of the house receiving the most sun should have a conservatory or large
